06 2021 Tutok Kainan Strategizing Meeting

A strategizing meeting was conducted by the National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA with the Department of Agrarian Reform MIMAROPA to discuss concerns on the implementation of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program. The strategizing meeting was held at the function room of DAR MIMAROPA Regional Office. It was attended by Regional Director Atty. Marvin Bernal, Assistant Regional Director Ms. Lilibeth Lee, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Mr. Ferdinand De Gala, Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Ms. Ruby Oncita, Engineer II Mr. Melvin Tirao, and Administrative Assistants Ms. J-an Manuel and Mr. Jushua Pando from DAR MIMAROPA while from NNC MIMAROPA comprises of Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator and Officer-in-Charge Ms. Ma. Eileen Blanco, Nutrition Officer III Ms. Maria Camille Louise Chen, Nutrition Officer I, Mr. Ace Patriarca, and ECCD-F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator, Mr. Francis Erik Bacena through Zoom Application.

The agenda of the meeting consists of providing an overview of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program, discussion of Memorandum of Understanding between the two agencies, clarification on the marketing strategy between NNC and the ARBOs, and lastly, plans for the upcoming event on the signing of MOU and launching of the program which will be led by DAR MIMAROPA.

DAR MIMAROPA will coordinate closely with ARBOs in Occidental Mindoro and Marinduque for the procurement of raw ingredients and NNC MIMAROPA will revise the MOU and Marketing Strategy according to both parties’ agreement. The two agencies agreed to conduct the signing of MOU and launching of the program on the 9th day of June 2021 at the BSA Towers Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City.

The NNC MIMAROPA will implement the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program to contribute to the prevention of stunting and wasted among children 0-23 months old through improving the quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of related ECCD F1KD services among nutritionally at-risk pregnant women and children 6-23 months old for the improvement of malnutrition in the region.
