06 2021 AIP Workshop for Marinduque

NNC MIMAROPA conducted a 3-Day Annual Investment Program (AIP) Online Workshop for the municipalities of Marinduque province through Zoom Application. The workshop commenced on 15 June, with the  opening program followed by workshop proper on 16 June.  The activity culminated with  presentation of accomplished AIP of every municipality and closing program.

The online workshop aims to provide technical assistance in integrating nutrition-related programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) to the Annual Investment Program in the LGUs of the province. This workshop also intends LGUs to formulate the 2022 AIP with a robust and adequate nutrition budgets in the four major nutrition PPA items including the first 1000 days to reduce and prevent stunting and safeguard nutrition in the post-pandemic period.

The opening program was attended by Provincial Nutrition Action Officer of Marinduque Ms. Rubi C. Apiag together with District Nutrition Program Coordinators and respective members of Municipal Nutrition Committees of Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Santa Cruz and Torrijos which comprised of Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Municipal Health Officer, Municipal Planning and Development Officer, Municipal Budget Officer and Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Health Chair. In her welcome message, NPC Ma. Eileen Blanco posted a challenge for each one to ensure that nutrition will be given priority among local government executives. Further,  PNAO Apiag delivered the inspirational message of Governor Presbitero Velasco Jr.

During the workshop proper, breakout sessions were conducted wherein 6 municipalities were divided into 3 groups having 2 municipalities and facilitated by an NNC MIMAROPA staff per group. With appropriate guidance from the NNC secretariat, participants used an excel-based AIP Costing Workbook to encode their two-year costs per PPAs for their 2022-2023 Local Nutrition Action Plans.

On the last day of workshop, the municipalities presented their AIPs and re-entry plans for comments and suggestions. The draft AIPs will be presented to their local nutrition committees for approval.

NNC MIMAROPA will continuously provide technical assistance to local government units in the region to strengthen the implementation of nutrition-related programs, projects, and activities as part in achieving its goal in zeroing out malnutrition prevalence in the region.
