Advancement for Rural Kids (ARK) sought assistance from the National Nutrition Council through the Office of the Cabinet Secretary for the assessment of health and nutrition data in Busuanga, Palawan and determine the impact of its “Feed Back” program in the said local government unit.
ARK is an international social impact organization working in rural communities to solve hunger and food insecurity. One of its flagship program, Feed Back, secures food for the family of farmers and fisherfolks whom were greatly affected by the pandemic.
Feed Back is a vegetable exchange among family beneficiaries that runs for 8-weeks from backyard gardening to exchanging harvest and creating new venture by selling these vegetables while securing food for their families.
A series of meetings were conducted by NNC CO since 21 April 2021. Since then, NNC MIMAROPA and Palawan Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Rachel Paladan and Busuanga Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Meleah Custodio joined in strategizing meetings on 4 May and 11 May, respectively. The PNAO and MNAO agreed to assist ARK on the available health and nutrition data in Busuanga and determine the impact of Feed Back on food security and nutritional status in the community.
