06 2021 Calapan CityCalapan City – The Barangay Nutrition Scholar Federation - Calapan City Chapter in cooperation with the local government unit of Calapan City initiated the conduct of outreach program in the year 2018 to address concerns and deliver health and nutrition services to households with nutritionally-at-risk children. This year’s program with the theme “Bayanihan sa Napapanahong Sitwasyon” reached a total of 30 beneficiaries from Brgy. Bondoc, Calapan City in May 2021.

The initiative was participated by the Sangguniang Barangay of Brgy. Bondoc, Brgy. Captain Richard Abene, Brgy. Captain Anacleto Bolor Sr., Brgy. Captain Randy Ahorro, City Nutrition Action Officer (CNAO) Ms. Glenda Raquepo, City Nutrition Program Coordinator (CNPC) Ms. Ma. Imee Celestino, Nutrition Officer (NO) I Ms. Hazel Masongsong, City Dentist Dr. Ma. Simonette Dalisay, Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Federation – Calapan City Chapter led by BNS President Ms. April Marasigan, barangay health workers (BHWs), private individuals and all volunteers who extended assistance in making the scheme possible and fruitful.

Through this, nutrition education to all mothers of the beneficiaries and one shot feeding were facilitated. Additionally, each beneficiary was able to take home the following items: nutrikomiks, ten kumainments fan, educational materials, toothbrush, vitamins and family food packs comprised of 5 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of chicken, 13 pieces of chicken eggs, 25 pieces of quail eggs, iron fortified oil, iodized salt, 1 kilogram of pancit miki, 5 pieces of bread, and variety of vegetables. Essentially, compliance to minimum public health safety protocols was strictly observed for the welfare of all.

The BNS Federation and the LGU Calapan City believes that Bayanihan sa Napapanahong Sitwasyon is inevitable. Constant delivery of health and nutrition services to the most vulnerable population groups specifically malnourished children were provided to guarantee that the nutritional status of affected individuals will not aggravate amidst the pandemic.
