The National Nutrition Council (NNC), the country's highest policy-making and coordinating body on nutrition was established on the year 1974 pursuant to Presidential Decree 491. This year's theme is "Sama-sama kahit Distansya".
NNC's mandates revolve around immeasurable commitments in formulating national food and nutrition policies and strategies, conduct of planning, monitoring, and evaluation of the national nutrition programs, and systematize funds, loans and grants release to guarantee effectiveness of various nutrition programs.

The Philippines has been struggling with triple burden of malnutrition - undernutrition, overnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies. As such, NNC together with its stakeholders and nutrition partners aims to further reinforce advocacy and mobilize the implementation of 8 nutrition-specific programs, 1 nutrition-sensitive program and 3 enabling programs in line with the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022, the country's blueprint actions for nutrition improvement.
The NNC is steadfast to its vision of ensuring the nutritional well-being of all Filipinos, recognized locally and globally, and led by a team of competent and committed public servants while living up with its core values - integrity, zeal, excellence, sensitivity, and transparency. As NNC cannot change the country's nutrition situation alone, together, let us team up to achieve nutritional adequacy for all Filipinos.
Happy 47th Anniversary, NNC!
