Annually, the NNC is mandated to spearhead the nutrition month celebration and call for collaborative efforts of all sectors – government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society, local government units, business, academe, communities, and families. For 2021, the focus of the NM is to raise awareness and mobilize actions to intensify the first 1000 days strategy as demonstrated by the theme “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!”. Everyone is highly encouraged to participate in the regionwide celebration.

- July 1-15: Nutrition Month Video Greetings of Nutrition Partners and Stakeholders
Regional Directors and Executive Directors from regional line agencies, Governors and City/Municipal Mayors of local governments units in MIMAROPA, and members of Palawan, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Occidental Mindoro Nutrition Communicators (PROMO Nutri Com) documented greetings for the month-long celebration.
- July 1: Regional Launching and Virtual Presser
The activity in collaboration with PROMO Nutri Com, its local media group was streamed live via Zoom Application and Facebook live and was participated by an estimated total of 200 participants. - July 13: Idol Ko Si Tatay Poster Making Contest
One (1) male MIMAROPAn with family member within the first 1000 days of life scope – pregnant women and children aged 0 to 2 years old shall represent the province/city and and to craft poster depicting the understanding on the importance of first 1000 days of life. - July 15: First 1000 Days Tiktok Challenge
Likers of NNC Official Facebook Page and NNC MIMAROPA Facebook Page may join by creating a maximum of one-minute unique tiktok entry in relation to the Nutrition Month theme. Deadline for submission of entries will be on 14 July (Wednesday), 4:00 PM and shall be posted at our FB Page on 15 July (Thursday) for liking contest. - July 16: Laking 1000 Best Complementary Food Recipe
Barangay nutrition scholars deployed in MIMAROPA Region and mothers or caregivers with child 0 to 2 years old should team up and create the best complementary food that embodies characteristics: Timely, Adequate, Properly-fed and Safe (TAPS). - July 17: First 1000 Days Information Sharing Session Episode #1
NNC MIMAROPA staff will discuss how to accurately prepare a complementary food. Each session will last for an hour and shall be aired on NNC MIMAROPA Facebook Page for free.
- July 24: First 1,000 Days Information Sharing Session Episode #2
A resource speaker will be invited to tackle the care for mothers and infants. Each session will last for an hour and shall be aired on NNC MIMAROPA Facebook Page for free.
- July 29-30: Final Deliberations and Judging of NNC MIMAROPA Contests
NNC Secretariat in close coordination with select inter-agency representatives shall determine the scores for the first three (3) criteria of the contests while the netizens for the public acceptance.
- Every Mondays and Fridays of July: Nutriquiz: Nutrition Month Edition
Questions of the week shall be posted at NNC MIMAROPA Facebook page every Mondays, 9:00 AM while five (5) electronically drawn winners will be announced at Facebook Page every Fridays, 1:00 PM. - August 3: Orientation on Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Network and Nutrition Month Culminating Activity
Members of the MIMAROPA Regional Nutrition Committee shall be invited and oriented on the upcoming regional launching of the SUN Network and encourage strong participation of partners.
Short video presentation comprised of photos and snippets of regional efforts and activities conducted with strict compliance to the minimum public health protocols will be posted on the NNC MIMAROPA Facebook page to wrap up the month-long activity.
Announcement of winners and a call to action will be affirmed urging the local government units, stakeholders and the public to extremely advocate the significance of first 1000 days of life.
