The 2021 Nutrition Month with the theme “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!” aims to focus on raising the awareness and mobilizing actions to intensify the first 1000 days of life.
As this year’s campaign calls for the collaborative efforts of all sectors – government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society, local government units, business, academe, communities, and most especially family members, NNC MIMAROPA would like to engage fathers and father figures within the MIMAROPA Region in expressing their outlook on the first 1000 days as a strategic intervention to cease all forms of malnutrition.
NNC MIMAROPA launched Idol Ko Si Tatay Poster Making Contest where each province and city of the region shall select one male representative with a family member within the first 1000 days of life scope – pregnant and children below two (2) years old. Furthermore, he should not be a professional painter or artist.
Provincial/City Nutrition Action Officers and/or District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators of the region have searched and identified the following participants to represent and craft their own distinctive yet eye-catching masterpiece depicting their understanding on the importance of support during the first 1000 days:
- Mel Mar L. Gragasin of Barangay Central, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Emmann Gerald S. Sigue of Barangay Santa Theresa, Gloria, Oriental Mindoro
- John Christopher M. Majaba of Barangay Magapua, Mogpog, Marinduque
- Novy M. Marcelino Jr. of Barangay Capaclan, Romblon, Romblon
