Municipality of Linapacan, Palawan joins the 47th Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme: “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!” through delivery of health and nutrition services to Brgy. Decabaitot last 17 July 2021.

Barangay Decabaitot is an island barangay which belongs to Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) and ranked first in the municipality with high malnutrition prevalence rate.

With attendance from Barangay Officials, representatives from Department of Education, pregnant Women, 4Ps beneficiaries and parents of identified severely underweight and underweight preschool children, the celebration was highlighted by the lecture about Philippine Plan of Action on Nutrition, Maternal and Child Health, Oral Health Care and Family Planning led by Dr. Charlie Tejada. Information dissemination about the COVID-19 Vaccination and blood typing was also conducted. Further, a lecture on environmental sanitation was also conducted by their sanitation inspector. 

After the lectures, the LGU through Municipal Health Office delivered health and nutrition services to the identified beneficiaries. These includes distribution of food supplies and Vitamin Angels to identified severely underweight preschoolers, prenatal check-up, conducted deworming activities, and dental consultation to pregnant women and preschoolers.
