Through the Proclamation No. 1309 of June 2007, the Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) week is celebrated every 2nd week of August spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Commission on Higher Education and Development (CHED) to promote and enhance cooperation among research organizations and network; to share and pool resources; to develop capacities for knowledge production, use and management; and, to conduct health research following ethical standards.
For the 14th PNHRS week, Zamboanga Consortium for Health Research and Development (ZCHRD) with the Department of Science and Technology IX (DOST IX), will host the celebration with the theme: “Health R and D in the New Normal: Moving Towards Universal Health Care".
The celebration will present emerging partnerships that will address the country’s current challenge on issues regarding health. From August 9-13, a series of live and pre-recorded materials will be used in various online platforms, the 14th PNHRS Week celebration aims to serve as a platform for the health research community to share their best practices and experiences in pursuit of healthier lives for the Filipinos through health Research & development
In line with the celebration, all other government organizations, the private sector, business and industry, non-government organizations and civil society, academic and research institutions are enjoined to participate and take an active role in the celebration and conduct of PNHRS Week activities
The Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) is an integrated national framework for health research in the country. It is a of strategy that aims to promote cooperation and integration of all health research efforts and stakeholders in the country to ensure evidence-based research will contribute in developing stronger research system policies and actions.
