8 September 2021- The National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA joined in the Regional Launching of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) of DepEd for the upcoming school year 2021-2022. Nutrition Program Coordinator and OIC Ma. Eileen B. Blanco delivered a message of support to the SBFP. The launching activity was a half-day program and was aired on DepEd MIMAROPA's Facebook Page.

The National Dietary Supplementation Program is a nutrition-specific program highlighted in the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 to address basic causes of malnutrition. The strengthening of the implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) as one of DepEd’s interventions for the upcoming school year is deemed to contribute to the achievement of the desired outcomes, including better health, nutrition, and overall development of all young MIMAROPA learners.

Part of the launching activity was the recognition of the most outstanding implementers of SBFP for 2020-2021. NO III Camille Chen and NO I Nichole Loyola took part  in the evaluation of entries which highlighted the leadership and management skills of program coordinators in both division and school levels in terms of program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, as well as collaboration and partnerships among the stakeholders.

NNC MIMAROPA will continue to coordinate with other regional line agencies towards the achievement of the PPAN 2017-2022 goals.
