Functions of Regional Nutrition Office

  • Execute policies, directives and guidelines set by the Office of the Executive Director at the regional level;
  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition at the local level;
  • Provide technical assistance to local program implementers to enhance their involvement;
  • Establish and maintain functional linkages with agencies involved in the nutrition program;
  • Promote nutrition advocacy and undertake resource mobilization activities at the regional level;
  • Generate nutrition and related data and serve as monitoring and data base center for the regional PPAN;
  • Facilitate the provision of material support from various sources for the intended recipients in the nutrition program;
  • Serve as the Secretariat to the Regional Nutrition Committee and other regional nutrition-related committee; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities of:


Nutrition Program Coordinator (NPC)

  • Provide the direction and administer economical and efficient coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the nutrition program in the region;
  • Take the lead in the promotion of nutrition advocacy and resource generation and mobilization;
  • Exercise overall supervision and control of the operation of regional office;
  • Serve as resource person on regional and sub-regional nutrition program implementation;
  • Conduct field visits to monitor and assess the implementation of the nutrition program; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned.

Nutrition Officer III (NO III)

  • Prepare the framework for regional program planning, take charge of coordinating the conduct of consultative meetings, planning, monitoring and evaluation of activities at the regional and provincial/city levels;
  • Draw up the annual workplan of the regional office, conduct field visits, prepare and Analyze reports;
  • Collect and collate relevant information for regional nutrition database and prepare feedback to field cooperators;
  • Serve as technical resource person on nutrition program and planning;
  • Conduct field visits to provide assistance on nutrition program planning and implementation; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned.

Nutrition Officer II (NO II)

  • Prepare modules, presentations and other documents for trainings, seminars, conferences, and workshops in line with the capacity building and advocacy activities supportive to the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition;
  • Organize and coordinate trainings, orientations and seminars on NNC, nutrition policies and programs and nutrition topics for various stakeholders;
  • Document activities of the National Nutrition Council – MiMaRoPa;
  • Draft communication, technical papers and other documents; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned.

Nutrition Officer I (NO I) 

  • Under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Program Coordinator, assist in the preparation of the regional workplan, technical and documentation reports/proceedings of meetings, trainings and other regional activities;
  • Assist in the conduct of field visits and assist in analyzing reports;
  • Assist in the collection and collation of relevant information for regional nutrition data base and prepare feedback to field cooperators;
  • Assist in the conduct of training and related activities;
  • Assist in monitoring distribution and utilization of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned.

ECCD-F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator  (ECCD-F1K PNC)

  • Coordinate, provide staff support, and implement F1K Nutrition activities in the province that include but are not limited to:
    • Consultative meetings, planning, monitoring and evaluation of activities at the provincial level,
    • Orientation sessions on the ECCD Intervention Package to participating municipalities, partners and stakeholders on F1K at regional, provincial and municipal levels,
    • Trainings on the nutrition component of the F1K,
    • Mentoring of nutrition and related workers at various levels.
  • Advocate for the mainstreaming of the ECCD Intervention Package in all Annual Work Plans and Medium-Term Investment Plans;
  • Assist in the coordination of implementation of ECCD IP activities at LGU level under the guidance of NNC;
  • Provide technical assistance to LGUs on the different components of the F1K, including fund management; and
  • Prepare reports as required by the NNC and other stakeholders.

Administrative Aide VI (AA VI)

  • Encodes communication, reports and other working papers;
  • Files and updates reports, communication and other reports;
  • Prepares draft of transmittal and other communications as assigned by the Nutrition Program Coordinator;
  • Receives/release both incoming and outgoing communications;
  • Prepares liquidation vouchers of cash advances for operational expenses and other reimbursements as well as cash advances for the Accelerated Hunger Mitigation Program (AHMP); and
  • Consolidates reports and perform such other functions as may be assigned.

Administrative Aide V (AA V)

  • Operates light automotive equipment in transporting personnel and materials of the Council;
  • Submits reports to his supervisor on fuel consumption and distance travelled;
  • Makes minor mechanical repair on vehicles;
  • Service and maintain when necessary equipment for operation and maintenance of council motor vehicles and other light equipment; and
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned.
