02102022 Radyo Kaunlaran First Semestral Online Monitoring for 2022National Nutrition Council – MIMAROPA conducted the first online monitoring for 2022 to its Nutriskwela Community Radio Station in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro – DZNI FM 99.7 Radyo Kaunlaran last 9 February. The monitoring team was headed by Nutrition Officer II Bianca Estrella and assisted by Nutrition Officer I Sean Frances Barredo. The meeting was also joined by the Station Manager Cresentina Salapare.

The virtual conference was guided by a 10-point system monitoring form which includes the following: 1) Presence and state of equipment provided by NNC, 2) Presence and state of other devices provided by NNC partners, 3) Broadcast Operation, 4) Quality of Station On-Air Sound, 5) Program Schedule, 6) Monitoring from National Telecommunications Commission, 7) Station Management, 8) Sustainability, 9) Program Impact to Listeners, and 10) Recommendations for Improvement.

It was noted that almost all equipment from NNC and its partners are still functional, except for the defective 300 watts transmitter, headphones, and external hard drive. Also, the station is still waiting for the availability of their landline and internet connection. In terms of the broadcast operation, SM Salapare mentioned that they already have a licensed radio technician on-board. In addition, avid listeners of the station have expressed their appreciation for the wide-range topic being discussed on air – from nutrition, developmental issues, and regional and national updates of the COVID-19 situation.

On the other hand, one of the reoccurring problems that Radyo Kaunlaran hopes to be resolved are the frequent power interruption and limited budget. To conclude the meeting, NNC MIMAROPA provided some insights or points for improvement moving forward, such as conducting regular quarterly meetings in the station and coming up with fund generating activities.
