Palawan Province – Information Management Officer Xylene Ann B. Notario conducted a courtesy meeting with Palawan Provincial Administrator Atty. Joshua U. Bolusa at the Palawan Provincial Capitol, Puerto Princesa City. Also present during the meeting was Palawan Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Rachel Paladan.

The meeting started with the endorsement of IMO Notario by PNAO Paladan. Functions of an IMO were discussed highlighting the collection of data for analysis and basis for nutrition services to be provided for the response. Area visits for data gathering and assisting in implementation were also mentioned during the meeting in which Provincial Administrator Bolusa suggested to take precautionary measures such as having antigen tests before and after the visit to remove the chance of getting and spreading COVID-19 Virus, and flu and malaria shots to prevent having diseases after the visit.

Updates on the situation of the highly affected areas were also discussed. Araceli was already visited by the Provincial Nutrition Team and provision of nutrition services such as Supplementary Feeding for 0-59 months of age, Nutrition Education, Deworming, Distribution of MNP, Multivitamins and Nutribun were mentioned. Mobilization was the biggest hurdle in implementation of nutrition programs. Provincial Administrator Bolusa commended the Nutrition Team for their efforts.

The meeting ended with Provincial Administrator Bolusa hoping for the safety of everyone in the Nutrition and the Response Team and for the fast recovery of the areas affected by Typhoon Odette.
