To address rate of stunting among 0 to 23 months old children through improved quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of Early Childhood Care and Development – First 1000 Days (ECCD-F1K)-related services in the province of Marinduque, the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TKDSP) was introduced by the National Nutrition Council.
All municipal nutrition action officers of six (6) municipalities – Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Santa Cruz, and Torrijos, Marinduque facilitated various social preparation activities for the upcoming implementation phase of the program.
In relation to the delivery of commodities, details of each consignee per municipality were validated. Food containers and fork and spoon sets were then delivered to the MNAOs for dissemination to 196 beneficiaries.
Ensuring the beneficiaries were within the target age group, masterlist of beneficiaries were regularly updated and submitted to NNC RO for consolidation and validation. Directory of focal persons at the provincial, municipal, and barangay levels were updated as well.
Bahi Agriculture and Fisheries Association (BAFA), the partner Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO) for Marinduque province, has received their 15% advance payment from NNC CO for use on supply and delivery of food commodities province-wide.
Finally, MNAOs along with the BNSs, BHWs, and other nutrition staff administered online and/or onsite orientation to all mothers of beneficiaries cum signing of informed consent forms. Minimum health protocols were strictly observed during conduct of such activities.
NNC MIMAROPA commits to persistently provide technical assistance – be it online or onsite to the Province of Marinduque for a smooth sailing implementation of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program.
