Did you know that the National Nutrition Council (NNC) provides P5,000.00 to Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) who got confined, hospitalized, or contracted by COVID-19 virus?
BNSs are known to be frontliners when it comes to delivery of nutrition services to the community, most especially to its vulnerable groups – children below five years old, pregnant women, lactating women, elderly, and indigenous people. When COVID-19 pandemic happened, they play a vital role in COVID-19 response specifically monitoring and care to suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients, and vaccination roll-out.

Are you a Barangay Nutrition Scholar who tested positive for COVID-19? We got you!
Note: Close contact BNSs who were quarantined yet did not test positive for COVID-10 are NOT qualified to avail the assistance.
Once approved, an assistance of P5,000.00 shall be provided. This assistance can only be availed one time per year and should be requested within six (6) months of hospitalization.
However, in case of emergencies like current pandemic where logistics and transportation are restricted, submission of requirements may be extended for another three (3) months, a total of nine (9) months. Relatively, a request letter from concerned BNS (requirement #2) should indicate reasons for delayed filing.

Please keep in mind that only requests with complete and hard copy documents shall be processed.
