Paluan, Occidental Mindoro – Mayor Michael “Adobo” Diaz of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro expressed his full support to the Nutriskwela Community Radio Station – Radyo Kapalayawan as NPC Ma. Eileen Blanco met the newly-elected mayor last 18 July 2022.

A positive response was received by NNC MIMAROPA from the new administration to continue the operation of the radio in the area. Mayor Diaz assured that they will be working towards the better operationalization of the station including the provision of radio personnel. They also agreed to transfer the station in the Rural Health Unit Building for the meantime such that it will now be near the municipal compound.

NPC Blanco also assured that technical assistance will be provided to Radyo Kapalayawan to help in its broadcast operations. She also suggested to include different sectors such as senior citizens, women, youth and NGOs in the programming.

Radyo Kapalawayan was established in 2019 under the Phase V of Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Program. Nutriskwela aims to educate listeners about proper nutrition through airing of correct, up to date and relevant information on health and nutrition.  The program also encourages participation of different stakeholders in the area hence different sectors can air programs over the radio to contribute on nutrition improvement and community development.
