08242022 TK Monitoring Visit to Santa Cruz Mque

One of the biggest municipalities in the province of Marinduque was Santa Cruz, there are 45 beneficiaries in the ongoing Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program by National Nutrition Council.

Provincial Nutrition Focal Point (PNFP) DMO II Pryce Manrique, District Nutrition Program Coordinator (DNPC) Raymond Medina, and Municipal Action Officer (MNAO) Joazon Posas conducted a Tutok Kainan monitoring visit at Sta. Cruz, Marinduque.

Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) Julieta Rolloque of Barangay Kamandugan and BNS Fe Monterey, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) Josefina Macapia and Marilyn Murillo of Hupi welcomed the monitoring team while preparing the hot meals for their beneficiaries with the help of other Barangay officials on duty. They also shared positive outcomes of the program that helps beneficiaries attain optimal nutritional status. As Barangay Captain Galicano Plata of Ipil expressed full support for the ongoing program to help improve and decrease the rate of malnutrition, the Barangay Lusok praised the Tutok Kainan program and hoped that another nutrition program would be implemented.

Lastly, BNS Lorelie Rivas, Bernadette Rosas, and Marites Amorin of Barangays Lapu-Lapu, Angas, and Buyabod were monitored while preparing dry rations for the beneficiaries. The BNSs gave their updates regarding the increased weight and good appetite of the beneficiaries.

The Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program will run for 180 days. It aims to address the rate of stunting among 0-23 months old children through improved quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of ECCD-F1K-related services.
