The National Nutrition Council is authorized to monitor and evaluate local nutrition program implementation, and the performance of local nutrition workers, through assessment of the performance of frontline nutrition staff in carrying out their core functions in line with delivering nutrition services in the locality.

Prior to the evaluation, NNC MIMAROPA staff PEO I Nichole Loyola and AA I Cyril Dalisay, and DSWD MIMAROPA representative PDO I Cristilyn Atrero assisted by PNAO Rachel Paladan and MNO staff paid a courtesy call to Vice Mayor Ramir Pablico and SB on Health Melvin Ballesteros to discuss the purpose of visit to the municipality. PNAO Paladan likewise lobbied to increase the BNS incentives as a reward for the extensive efforts of BNSs in addressing malnutrition within the LGU. SB on Health Ballesteros responded that they are planning to increase the BNS incentives, however, due to decrease in budget, it might not push through. Rest assured that it will be one of the municipality’s priorities as soon as the budget has increased.

The team then facilitated desk review of 2021 documents, interview, and BNS written exam to MNAO Rodrigo A. Cipriano Jr. of Municipality of San Vicente and BNS Mary Jane Valledor of Barangay Alimanguan, San Vicente on 14-15 September 2022, respectively.

Further, PPAN Advocacy Jackets were handed over to Municipal Administrator Lydia Rodriguez, on behalf of Mayor Amy Alvarez; and PNAO Rachel Paladan, as representative of Governor Victorino Dennis M. Socrates and Mayor Abner Rafael N. Tesorio of Sofronio Española, Palawan.

MNAO Rodrigo A. Cipriano Jr. and its MNC Members, and BNS Mary Jane Valledor along with its BNC Members acknowledge the initial findings and recommendations provided by the regional evaluators. LNFPs guarantee to prepare comprehensive documentation reports for every activity conducted in tandem with LNC members who commit to support and fund nutrition programs to ameliorate nutrition situation in the LGU.
