National Nutrition Council RO V is conducting a recipe development contest open to all cooking enthusiast. Recipes should be original, low-cost, easy to prepare, nutritious and made of indigenous ingredients to showcase many ways of cooking vegetables. The winning recipes will be compiled into a recipe book that will be printed for distribution to beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) or the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program administered by the DSWD as a way for NNC to contribute to improved nutrition of poorest families. The recipe book will also be distributed to local nutrition workers as an IEC material for helping families improve their meals and food intake.
Individuals or group may submit their entries on or before 4 April 2012. Entry forms and mechanics are available at NNC RO V office and webpage. Ten finalists will be chosen whose names will be posted on NNC RO V facebook fanpage, twitter, and webpage on 13 April 2012. You will also receive a notification from NNC RO V via text or call if you qualify as one of the ten finalists. Actual cooking demonstration of submitted recipe will be done on 20 April 2012, in Legazpi City. Prizes at stake are as follows: 1st prize – P 10,000, 2nd prize – P 8,000, 3rd prize – 6,000, and 3 consolation prizes of P 2,000. All recipe entries become the property of the National Nutrition Council. Contestants with winning recipes will be acknowledged in the recipe book.
