Naga City – All twenty seven (27) Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) of Naga City received a brand new laptop during the BNS Planning Workshop held last 18 January 2016 at Bicol Science and Technology Centrum. Mayor John G. Bongat personally initiated the awarding and distribution of the laptop computers assisted by the City Nutrition Program Coordinators Ms. Raquel B. Buere, Ms. Rosemarie V. Zuniega, and Mr. Alvin V. Villacruz. The 3 CNPCs likewise each received the same unit of laptop as managers of the nutrition programs in the city.

According to Mayor Bongat in his short message, “BNSs should also be open to the world of information technology as we are now in a world where computers are no longer a personal luxury but a basic need.” He said that due to the exemplary performance of the BNSs in cooperation with their respective barangay nutrition committees, the City of Naga performed well in the implementation of nutrition projects and programs, thus, they all deserve the reward. He also added that the provision of these laptops should aid the BNS in their performance of duties, roles and responsibilities especially in the documentation of reports and activities, monitoring, consolidation of data and other tasks.

The BNSs had their planning and BNSAP formulation for 2016 guided by the three CNPCs.

No wonder Naga City’s BNSs are highly motivated.
