NNC-ARMM conducts its Orientation on Barangay Nutrition Scolars at Dan Mar beach Resort, Pahut, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on September 17-18, 2015. Twenty-nine (29) Participants from all the barangays of three (3) different municipalities namely: Bongao, Panglima Sugala, and Simunul completed the 2-day live-in training.

The training was facilitated by Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, DOH-ARMM, Celia Sagaral, RND, Chief of Public Health, Elsa Pescadera, Provincial Nutrition Coordinator, Aurora Laja, RND, and Nutrition Officer, Irene Anta, RND.

This thorough training helped equip the newly recruited Barangay Nutrition Scholars with the expertise needed to provide the basic health and nutrition services to their communities. This training engaged an array of methods which steered the participants to understand their roles and responsibilities and enabled them to know what they would need to identifying malnourished children by visiting each house in their area and weighing each child of the household.
