7 February 2014, Cotabato City - National Nutrition Council-ARMM starts the airing of Suara sa Nutrisyon (Voice of Nutrisyon) last January 26, 2014. Suara sa Nutrisyon airs every Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 in the evening at DXMY-RMN 729, Cotabato City with anchorwoman Ms. Saida D. Ali, Public Information Officer of DOH-ARMM. The program airs to increase the awareness of listeners on the updated Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos and its Islamic point of view. DXMY-RMN 729 reaches all areas of ARMM.
Suara sa Nutrisyon's resource persons for the third episode were Ms. Jessen T. Masukat, Nutrition Officer of NNC-ARMM and Ustadza Anisa Arab Taha representing Muslim Religious Leaders.
The third episode discussed complementary feeding, the optimal age of its introduction to the child, the advantages and disadvantages of giving it too soon and too late, and what foods are appropriate to the age of the baby. Ustadza Anisa Taha included Hadiths (the Sunnah or practice of Prophet Mohammad s.a.w) that are related to the topic to give the Islamic perspective of the messages.
The success of Suara sa Nutrisyon is shown through its high listenership. Many listeners asked questions through text messages and these questions were answered by the resource persons during the broadcast.
