As the saying goes “Every journey begins with a single step and a lot of support.”   Today BARMM region faces a double burden of malnutrition that includes both undernutrition and overweight. The risk posed by all forms of malnutrition starting from the earliest stage of the development of the child.

NPC Sinolinding of the National Nutrition Council- BARMM partners with LGU Montawal Mayor Datu Otto C. Montawal and his  First Lady Mrs.Bing Kambang to reorganize its Municipal Nutrition Committee. Dr. Sinolinding presented the legalities and  roles and functions of a functional Local Nutrition Committee.

The Chairperson Montawal commits  to deploy a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND),  hired a Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) in every  barangay as mandated by PD 1569 and to designate a MNAO  in order to facilitate the plans and manage the implementation of nutrition activities.

The said orientation was held on October 7, 2021 at Montawal Municipal Hall.  Also in attendance, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer of Maguindanao, Baiking A. Balinte, PhD and other key officials of Datu Montawal, Maguindanao.
