BUTUAN City- On Tuesday 16 November 2021 fifteen (15) partner agencies joined in the signing of the Regional Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) at Watergate Boutique Hotel, Butuan City.
EPAHP a convergence of partner agencies aimed to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities, including marginalized sectors. The convergence is intended to contribute to the national government’s efforts in addressing hunger and poverty through the synergy and convergence of the essential services shared by its partner agencies.
In his message, Cabinet Secretary Karlo A. Nograles, the Chairman of the Inter Agency Task Force Against Zero Hunger expressed appreciation to the dedication provided by the partner agencies and for bringing the necessary support to the community despite the threat of COVID-19.
To achieve the EPAHP goal, member agencies shared commitment to implement the following strategic measures: provisions for institutional feeding programs; skills training for Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs), Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs), Community Based Organizations and other rural based organizations; credit assistance to support food production, processing and marketing; linking of participating CBOs to prospective markets; enhancing the provision of farm production technologies and extension services; enhancing sustainability of the program; adoption of Community Participation Procurement; construction, repair and improvement of irrigation facilities; and full and intensified implementation of the National Program on Population and Family Planning.
Joining the 15 partner agencies are from DSWD, DAR, DA, DILG, BJMP, DOH, NNC, DepEd, DOST, DTI, TESDA, NIA, POPCOM, LBP Nort and LBP South which will automatically join as member of the EPAHP Regional Convergence Team (RCT) in Caraga region. #NASLabordo
