SK Nov182021BUTUAN City- In a workshop conducted on 18 November 2021, young leaders around Caraga region identified and lined up programs, projects and activities in their 2022 annual work plan.

The sharing of commitment happened during the conduct of the Seminar on Nutrition Awareness and Empowerment of Youth Leaders organized by the National Nutrition Council Caraga.

The seminar introduced the topics on youth in agriculture, responsible parenthood, healthy diets and practices in the new normal and the involvement of the youth in the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN).

As young leaders, OIC NPC Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo shared the importance of involvement and participation in the government efforts towards youth development and empowerment. Dr. Labordo added that the youth can contribute to the reduction of malnutrition through the nutrition sensitive program engagements.

In a workshop facilitated by Nutrition Officer Raphael P. Ochavo, the group identified community and home gardening, health and nutrition forum, policy lobbying, teenage pregnancy care, and advocacy campaign on good health and nutrition as their priority for implementation.

In a feedback provided by a youth leader from the Diocese of Butuan, he mentioned of the big role of the youth in shaping a better community, and the purpose of helping one another.

NNC Caraga will include the youth leaders as one of the sectors to be involved in the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. #NASLabordo
