BUTUAN City- Caraga Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars identified Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accreditation in the 2022 work plan as a priority.
The agreement surfaced during the Federation Meeting conducted on 17 November 2021 at the Rajah Soliman, Butuan City.
President Mary Lomoljo of the Municipality of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur pushed for the accreditation next year as this will help run the organization smoothly and will benefit her co-BNSs.
To process the accreditation, the BNS Fed Officers set deadline on the submission of BNS members per province and city and the polishing of the BNS Federation Constitution and by-laws.
OIC NPC Nino Archie Labordo in his message assured that NNC will facilitate the Federation with the process and the requirements needed for submission.
Currently there are 1,776 listed BNSs across the Caraga region which helps monitor the nutritional status of children and nutritionally at-risk groups and provide them with nutrition and nutrition-related service providers.
The Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Program is a human resource development strategy of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition, which involves the recruitment, training, deployment and supervision of volunteer workers called the BNS. #NASLabordo
