Butuan City- In a meeting conducted by the Regional Nutrition Committee, the august body approved the 2021 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) during its meeting on 9 December 2021 at Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.

This year, despite the threat of COVID 19 the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) was able to conduct and evaluate selected provinces and validated identified local nutrition focal points particularly the Barangay Nutrition Scholars.

Using the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro tool, the RNET validated six (6) contenders for the Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (ROBNS) in the region. However, contenders vying for the coveted award did not reach its cut-off to be nominated for at the national level.

On the other hand, the Green Banner awardees shall be identified by the Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team and shall be given recognition once list received by the NNC Secretariat.

The RNAC scheduled on 20 December 2021 will also recognize partners and stakeholders who provided exemplary support to the nutrition program implementation in the region as supported by the RNC Resolution No. 7 series of 2021. #NASLabordo
