Butuan City- Nutrition Cluster response team convened for widen support and partnership on 27 December 2021 via blended meeting at Almont Inland Resort Hotel, Butuan City.
In a quick but meaningful meeting, OIC NPC Nino Archie Labordo shared to the group the post typhoon Odette situation particularly on nutrition related concerns in the ravaged areas of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.
Providing responses are members of the cluster to include updates from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on prize freeze, Department of Health (DOH) on commodities available, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) on the progress of responses, and the Breastfeeding Nanay’s in Caraga on the online information drive.
On the other hand, the local government units of Tandag City shared on the responses forwarded to areas affected to include water and food. Also, the Province of Surigao del Sur shared of the related polices with regards to response by the province to areas of Surigao, Dinagat and Siargao.
Meanwhile, UNICEF representative Ms. Amina Lim shared that augmentation for RUTF is coming and that she requested for the distribution plan and its logistic strategies. Likewise, Ms. Christine Zyra Abalos of the Samaritan’s Purse mentioned of human resource augmentation to affected areas to include nurses, doctors and nutritionist dieticians.
The Nutrition Cluster will be monitoring progress and coordinating nutrition related response services in the most affected typhoon Odette areas in Caraga region. #NASLabordo
