DOST FNRI NNSButuan City –Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI), conducted a pre-survey coordination meeting with the selected local government units in the Province of Agusan del Sur on 27 January 2022 via Zoom Conferencing.

Prior to the activity DOST-FNRI in the person of Maylene Cajucom had a close coordination with Agusan del Sur Provincial Government through Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO) Laniebelle T. Angchangco for the scheduled pre-survey coordination meeting.

In the virtual meeting, DOST-FNRI Team Coordinator Cajucom discussed the overview of National Nutrition Survey (NNS), the areas covered (57 barangays), and the survey needed such as the pre-survey notes and information forms, list of local officials and contact person, accommodation, security measures, local aides and transportation. The qualifications and duties of local aides who would guide the DOST-FNRI researchers in the area was also considered.

The comprehensive survey aims to provide scientific data on the nutritional and health status among Filipinos which relevant in planning nutrition and development programs including formulation of policies for implementation.

The meeting likewise included the safety measures and COVID-19 health protocols to be followed during the conduct of data collection.

DOST-FNRI hopes to start the National Nutrition Survey at Agusan del Sur from March to April 2022.

Present in the meeting are the Nutrition Action Officers (NAOs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and Local Chief Executives of Agusan del Sur.#MPRayco
