Tandag City- The Municipality of San Agustin in Surigao del Sur showcased their dancing prowess during the Nutrition Month Celebration, 25 July at the Multipurpose Hall, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

Highlighted during the activity are the 13 Barangay Nutrition Committees led by their Barangay Captain who presented a 3-7 minutes dance talent related to the nutrition month theme.

Each of the participating barangay prepared the presentation with a costume related to the theme and selected music suitable to the celebration.

Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Maryl Masaglang shared that the competition will not only advocate nutrition but will foster teambuilding among the Local Nutrition Committee.

Further, Mayor Nicolas Alameda mentioned that the local government unit of San Agustin is positive of embracing the call for solidarity and building nutrition resilience in the Municipality of San Agustin.

Meanwhile, Dr. Niño Archie S. Labordo served as the Guest Speaker during the program. He emphasized the 2022 Nutrition Month theme, "New normal na nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon", which calls for strengthened nutrition interventions and solidarity towards nutrition improvement.

Further, local nutrition functionality was highlighted as basic structure would be relevant in the nutrition program management. Additionally, the presence of BNSs capacitated and trained will function accordingly at the local level.

The 13 barangays including the members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee Chaired by Mayor Nicolas Alameda, that the Committee is positive about embracing the call for solidarity and building nutrition resilience in the Municipality of San Agustin.

After the showcase of talent, the BNC and MNC share food and celebrate nutrition month like any other festivities.#NASLabordo
