Sibagat NSOA July2022Butuan City – The Municipality of Sibagat and DXCN FM 107.3 Radyo Kaagapay in collaboration with the National Nutrition Council Caraga conducted a Nutrition School on-the-Air (NSOA) graduation ceremony to its participants on 19 July 2022 at Municipal Agriculture Training Hall, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.

A total of twenty-three (23) participants graduated in this learning session through listening to radio station and Facebook live.

The graduates are composed of pregnant women, mothers, senior citizens, young professionals and students. The oldest among the graduates is Ms. Monalisa Atuel at 70 years of age and the youngest is Shinee Ybañez at 12 years of age.

NSOA learning sessions focuses on the 10 Kumainments. Each kumainment message is discussed intensively in every session for better understanding with quizzes every after session. The first session started on 29 June 2022 and ended on 15 July 2022.

These learning sessions are discussed by Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Rovelyn Montino, Nutrition Staff Rowena Cuerbo and Nutritionist-Dietitian Jerome Cadeliña.

To review the learnings of the NSOA graduates, Nutrition Officer II Leah Vina Vargas discussed the gist of each of the 10 kumainments. Emphasized in the discussion is the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months old below and timely introduction of complementary feeding.

On the other hand, the graduates appreciated the learning sessions as it gave them new learning and guided them on what to improve and to change on their child-rearing practices, nutrition and lifestyle.

Graduates received a certificate of participation, T-shirts, load prizes for the top 10 scorers of the quizzes given every after session and a pouch bag for the honor students.
