Butuan City- Twenty-two (22) Nutrition School on the Air (NSOA) graduates received positive feedback and support from local legislators for their dedication and commitment to nutrition and related delivery services during the NSOA Graduation Ceremony, 26 August 2022 at the DSWD Conference Room, Carmen, Surigao del Sur.
Hon. Michael C. Escuyos relayed that the barangay nutrition scholars and barangay nutrition workers are essential public servants helping the government smoothen the service delivery on health and nutrition implementation.
On the other hand, Sangguniang Bayan Renato Calaṅas was inspired by their dedication as volunteers and as least paid workers. As a member of the Sangguniang Bayan, I will support the health and nutrition implementation and the welfare of the volunteers relayed by Hon. Calaṅas.
Meanwhile, SB Escuyos mentioned that he will push for an increase in honorariums for the barangay nutrition scholars and barangay health workers. The increase of honorarium was made years ago and SB Escuyos was also the movant.
This was supported by ABC President Hon. Generoso C. Banguis and SB Calaṅas. The increase of honorarium is hopefully be approved this year.
National Nutrition Council Caraga, Officer-in-Charge Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo expressed appreciation for the initiative of Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Gloria O. dela Peṅa of pushing to have partnered on the implementation of NSOA. Likewise, he extended his gratitude to the Municipal Nutrition Committee headed by Mayor Jane V. Plaza.
BNS Rosalinda M. Elimanco relayed their appreciation of behalf of the graduates. She mentioned that it was informative and refreshing sessions as nutrition implementer.
The first batch of NSOA graduates composed of the barangay nutrition scholars and barangay health workers are expected to cascade ten kumainments messages to their respected area of assignments focusing on household nutrition education. #NASLabordo
