Butuan City- The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) presented the result of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro conducted for the City of Bislig on 5-6 September 2022 at the City Mayor’s Conference Hall of this City.

The Team provided the results and the recommendation on how the City will strenghthen the nutrition program implementation.

Dimensions evaluated for the local government unit are : (1) Vision-Mission; (2) Nutrition Policies; (3) Governance; (4) LNC Management; (5) Nutrition Service Delivery; and (6) Change in Nutritional Status.

On the otherhand, the City Nutrition Action Officer, Ms. Judith M. Rendon was evaluated on her performance according to: (1) Coordination; (2) Orientation, Advocacy and Implementation; (3) Planning; (4) Documentation; (5) Resource Generation; and (6) Capacity development.

NOII Leah Vina Vargas presented the process of MELLPI Pro and discussed the value of investing in nutrition. She shared that partners and members of the City Nutrition Committee can play big part in nutrition program management.

Among the recommendations are: coordination with members of the City Nutrition Committee (CNC) and other stakeholders to improve resource generation and the city's monitoring and evaluation function.

It is suggested that a planning workshop to formulate the City Nutrition Action Plan (CNAP) be conducted so that members can identify strategies and interventions that will help the City reduce its malnutrition particularly among children.

Present during the exit meeting is the City Mayor,Hon. Florencio C. Garay, some members of the Sanguniang Panglungsod, City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), City Mayor’s Office (CMO), City Health Office (CHO) , City Agriculture Office (CAO), City Cooperative Development Office (CAOO), and SPO of Bislig.

RNET who conducted the MELLPI are Planning Officer IV Elenita S. Mandap, NOII Leah Vina P. Vargas, DMO II Cristal Gale P. Gumban, ND II Hannah Faith M. Lim and ND II Shaira Lou T. Pomicpic and intern from CMU, Julycah A. Eballe.

City Mayor Garay appreciated the visit and the recommendation made by the Team. He is positive that the City of Bislig will reduce the numbers of children who are malnourished. He encouraged the members of the CNC to help one another and work for the betterment of its people. #JAEballe/ NASLabordo
