TANDAG CITY- Former Tandag City Nutrition Action Officer, Ms.  Ermalinda Donasco inspired the audience during the City Nutrition Awarding Ceremony held on 2 December 2022 at Shacene Grand Ballroom, Tandag City.

"A nutrition worker should have passion and love towards her work" Ms. Donasco shared.

In her message she narrated how she started to build nutrition programs in then Municipality of Tandag.

“Pabasa sa Nutrisyon” and infant and young child feeding practices are being conducted by the Nutrition Office even at the remotest.

Ms. Donasco also shared the house to house campaign of constructing a toilet facility. She recalled how difficult for urban families to put importance of building toilets.

The importance of potable water is always included in nutrition advocacy, she highlighted.

Further to give importance to local products in Tandag, Ms. Donasco appealed to organize “tabuan”, the trade of local products, root crops, fish, poultry, fruits and vegetables every week.

Meanwhile, Dr. Niño Archie Labordo of the National Nutrition Council Caraga appreciated and thanked the City Government of Tandag for its steadfast commitment to combating malnutrition.

Dr. Labordo encouraged the local nutrition committee to continuously tap partners and stakeholders to bite a chunk into nutrition programs, projects and activities.

This trade scheme has been given importance by the local government and local farmers were provided space and schedule to conduct the weekly activity.

The City through its dynamic and ever supportive Mayor and Chairperson of the City Nutrition Committee, Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel extended its appreciation to all Barangays, CNC members, partners and the City Nutrition Office thru the leadership of CNAO Reyveen John B. Geli.

The good Mayor is happy that the City is reaping its fruits through the various awards received, a manifestation that the local government unit is working and each of the employees are working towards the people of Tandag.

Ms. Donasco, the current nutrition implementers of Tandag and other stakeholders, envisioned a zero malnutrition in Tandag City. # NASLabordo
