EPAHP Meeting Jan 2023BUTUAN CITY--The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP)—Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) conducted a meeting with the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Caraga on 11 January 2023 at EPAHP-RPMO, JMV Building, T. Guingona Sr. Avenue, Butuan City.

The meeting discussed the community-based organizations (CBOs) in Caraga and its better partnership with the NNCs feeding program in 2023.

Along way to the discussion is the requirements needed in the implementation of the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) Tutok Kainan which will be implemented in the identified areas of Dinagat and Surigao del Norte.

Identification of the CBOs shall, however, be coordinated with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) through its EPAHP Focal, Ms. Hazel Bautista.

Likewise, highlighted in the meeting is the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the EPAHP. The MOU shall include technical assistance or orientation to farmers and other suppliers on basic health and nutrition concepts.

This strategy will guarantee that suppliers or the CBOs understand the importance of the program provided for the community.

In an agreement, the EPAHP-RPMO in close coordination with NNC Caraga will communicate with each other in order to comply with the necessary requirements and start the TK-DSP implementation in nearest possible time.

Collaborating on behalf of NNC Caraga during the meeting were Development Management Officers (DMO) II, Ms. Mariella P. Rayco and Ms. Jann Abigail O. Portillas together with EPAHP Regional Program Coordinator, Ms. Janrie G. Dudang and her staff.

The National Nutrition Council, Caraga, and DSWD, through the EPAHP program, will continue its partnership and support the government’s effort to reduce hunger and poverty in the country through feeding programs for pregnant women and children through the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), First 1000 Days Intervention Package, which will create a greater impact to the community. #DMOIIJAOPortillas
