BUTUAN CITY- Around 700 hundred thousand have been approved for the major 2023 implementation of nutrition programs and activities in the Municipality of Tubay, Agusan del Norte shared by Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Janet O. dela Cena during the visit of National Nutrition Council Caraga, Nutrition Program Coordinator, Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo on 16 February 2023.

Identified programs and activities for implementation in 2023 are: dietary supplementation program; micronutrient supplementation program; Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition; Local Government Unit Mobilization; Nutrition Month Celebration; overweight and obesity management; national nutrition promotion and program; capacity development and aid to barangay nutrition scholars.

The approved budget is only under the Office of the Mayor relayed by MNAO Janet dela Cena. Programs and activities of the members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee will still be culled out and integrated to complete the PPAs of the Municipal Nutrition Action Plan.

MNAO dela Cena made mention of the support provided by the Municipal Mayor Jimmy Beray.

In Tubay, there is a caravan in which malnourished children, if seen or identified is refereed for complete assessment so that other underlying causes can be identified.

The different barangays through the barangay nutrition scholars are mobilized so that the dietary supplementation program is served rightly and in correct calories for the target group.

This year, Mayor Beray ensured that dietary supplementation program or the feeding program will reach even the remotest barangays.

In 2022, the Municipality capacitated the Barangay Nutrition Committees through the planning workshop and orientation on the nutrition program management.
