Butuan City- All nine (9) barangays in the Municipality of Bacuag, Surigao del Norte attended the Barangay Nutrition Action Planning (BNAP) Workshop conducted on 19-21 July at Barangay Población Multipurpose Hall in this town.
Led by the visionary Mayor of Bacuag, Hon. Felicisimo C. Cebedo, the three-day planning workshop was well attended by Sangguniang Bayan members, Barangay Chairpersons and members of the Local Nutrition Committee.
During the first day, Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo of NNC Caraga discussed the topic on Why Invest in Nutrition, which provided appreciation for the alarming nutrition situation in the country and in the Province of Surigao del Norte.
Likewise, the topic shared the importance of the first 1,000 days package and monitoring the six critical interventions to maximize the growth potential of the child.

Butuan City- Around 30 nutrition implementers completed the three-day training seminar on the First 1,000 days: Idol ko si Nanay Training module conducted on 19-22 July 2022 at Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City.
The training on the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) in the First 1,000 days: Idol ko si Nanay Module is intended for service providers who will implement key interventions on health, nutrition, social and early learning services to achieve the maximum development of the child's life.
In particular, the training provided input on the overall context of the ECCD F1K program, demonstrated facilitation skills in conducting nutrition education classes using the Idol Ko Si Nanay Facilitator’s Guide; demonstrated skills on counseling and giving support to mothers along infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices, and plan the conduct of roll out of trainings at the local government units.

Butuan City- In order to sustain reduced malnutrition prevalence, the Municipality of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte promised that nutrition activities will be refurbished so that nutrition awards will be once again be reclaimed, said by Sangguniang Bayan Ronilyn S. Borja during her closing message in Celebration of Nutrition Month on 20 July 2022 in this town.
Mayor Joselito T. Roble was ably represented by Mr. Andrew Roble, the Municipal Administrator, extended support to the celebration of Nutrition Month. The good Administrator, announced that an increase of honorarium will be provided to barangay nutrition scholars, the inclusion of nutrition programs, projects and activities in the plan and will work for the nutrition office with manpower.
Dr. Ramises L. Casals shared that health is wealth and that investing in good nutrition is important.

Tandag City - Members of the City Nutrition Committee (CNC) of the City of Tandag participated in the formulation of the 2023-2025 City Nutrition Action Plan (CNAP) on 25-26 July at Shacene Pensione House and Restaurant, Tandag City.
In his presentation, City Nutrition Action Officer (CNAO), Dr. Reyveen John Geli shared that a budget has been proposed for 2023 comparable to the 2022 budget which 8 million. The 2023 budget is strengthened to focus on the first 1,000 days program package for mothers and children in every barangay.
Mayor Roxanne Pimentel included nutrition activities as priority agenda number 3: Right Access to Health Care and Nutrition for the people of Tandag.
Geared towards better maternal nutrition and infant young child practices, the City Nutrition Committee created the K-ISA (Kinabuhi sa Isa Ka Libong Adlaw), a first 1,000 days program in Tandag City.

Tandag City- The Municipality of San Agustin in Surigao del Sur showcased their dancing prowess during the Nutrition Month Celebration, 25 July at the Multipurpose Hall, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.
Highlighted during the activity are the 13 Barangay Nutrition Committees led by their Barangay Captain who presented a 3-7 minutes dance talent related to the nutrition month theme.
Each of the participating barangay prepared the presentation with a costume related to the theme and selected music suitable to the celebration.
Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Maryl Masaglang shared that the competition will not only advocate nutrition but will foster teambuilding among the Local Nutrition Committee.
