Butuan City- The campaign for this year’s Nutrition Month Celebration calls for strengthened nutrition actions said by Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo, the Officer-in Charge of the National Nutrition Council Caraga during the Regional Launching on 4 July at SM Event Center, Butuan City.
The theme connotes actions towards nutrition improvement as the country shifts towards adapting with COVID 19 virus, Dr. Labordo added.
This year’s nutrition month theme “new normal na nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon”, was carried out to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition in building resilience and recovery from pandemic.
The quarantine, lockdowns and the mobility restrictions have a huge impact on the lives of many, particularly on the visible upshot of hunger and malnutrition.
Social Weather Station (SWS) revealed that an increase of families who suffered from hunger has been noted since the start of COVID 19 pandemic.

Butuan City- On 4 July 2022 the Regional Launching of the 48th National Nutrition Month Celebration kicked off with a motorcade around Butuan City.
This was attended by the members of the Regional Nutrition Committee, partners from the military group, academe, media, Local Government Unit of Butuan City and the business sector.
First few in the City, the motorcade assembled at Guingona Park and started to move to Montilla Boulevard, City Hall roundabout then to Rosales Avenue and going to Bancasi Rotunda via J.C Aquino Avenue and back to the main area at SM City Butuan.
Astonished by the rhythm, people on the streets dance with the sounds of the drum operated by the group of students from Agusan National High School.

Butuan City- On July 8, 2022, Friday the Provincial Government Unit of Agusan del Norte launched the 48th Nutrition Month Celebration at the Provincial Capitol Lobby with full of reminders on health and nutrition tips for capitol employees.
Employees of the Agusan del Norte Capitol gathered together for a meaningful nutrition awareness campaign inviting speakers to provide input regarding the importance of nutrition.
In her message, Dr. Silver Joy Tejano, the head of the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office and the Provincial Nutrition Action Officer shared that to be healthy one must attend to mental well-being and should always put a smile.
Ms. Elizabeth Marie R. Calo, the Provincial Administrator and former Sanguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, shared the expereinces and healthy activities during the pandemic. Being a plantita provided a lot of relief to the anxiety and stresses of the pandemic.

Butuan City – in its Second Quarter Meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC) Caraga, the Council passed and approved RDC Resolution No. 46, titled “Enjoining Regional Line Agencies, Local Government Units, Academe, Media, and the Private Sector to Strongly Support the 48th National Nutrition Month Celebration” on 10 June 2022, via Zoom Conferencing.
Presidential Decree 491 designates the month of July as the Nutrition Month (NM), “for the purpose of creating greater awareness among our people about the importance of nutrition”, guided by a chosen theme to highlight an important and timely concern on nutrition.
This year, the National Nutrition Council Technical Working Group approved through ad referendum the 48th Nutrition Month theme which is, “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-Samang Gawan ng Solusyon”. The theme calls for strengthened nutrition interventions and solidarity towards nutrition improvement as the country shifts towards living with the COVID-19 virus.

Butuan City- Members of the Caraga MOVERS or the Multi-Sectoral Organization Envisioning an Empowered and Resourceful Society through Nutrition, took their oath of office during the Regional Nutrition Month Launching held on 4 July 2022 at the Events Center, SM City Butuan.
Department of Health (DOH) Caraga Regional Director and Chairperson of the Regional Nutrition Committee, Dr. Cesar Cassion administered the oath of office to the newly elected Caraga Movers officers.
The new set of officers are: Mr. Alfredo Plaza, Jr. of Agusan del Sur as President, Mr. Ismael Cubillas of RMN DXBC as Vice President, Ms. Nelsa Auron of Butuan City as Treasurer, Ms. May Diez of Radyo Pilipinas, Mr. Israel Palero of Love Radio Butuan as Auditor and Ms. Aiza Supas of Radyo Trumpeta.
