National Nutrition Council in partnership with SKY Cable Zamboanga and its Local Telemagazine--VEZTV“Vale El Zamboanga”  and the City Nutrition Committee of Zamboanga held a fun run dubbed as ONE RUN:”Flag, Nation and Nutrition”.

The ONE RUN held in 15 December 2013 was open to the public and gathered over a thousand running enthusiasts from children to adults, private individuals, students, government and NGOs among others.  The crowd filled up the grounds of the Paseo del Mar where run had its jump start and finished. A ceremonial run by the event organizers’ officials bearing the flag of the Philippines opened the Run that had three categories  -- 6 km, 3 km and kiddie run at the Paseo del Mar with 5 minutes interval for each category. The crowd of running enthusiasts coming from different sectors and groups was perfect for the  launching of the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos which was done during the assembly, NGF leaflets were distributed for their personal copies,  the NGF billboards in three languages were posted all around the stage  area while the locally produced NGF Video plugs were shown in the big screen during the assembly.ue for the National Nutrition Council to launch and introduce to the public the 2012 revised Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos  and for the City Nutrition Committee of Zamboanga City to raise funds for the Nutrition on Wheels Project and to support the Supplemental Feeding program of undernourished children in the City. The run also encouraged people to be physically active and was an occasion for  Zamboangueños to unite and participate in the recovery efforts of Zamboanga City after the armed crisis and flooding in September and October.Nation and Nutrition.

The ONE RUN: Flag, Nation, Nutrition, a cause oriented event was a fun event which culminated with series of ZUMBA  numbers that the run participants fully enjoyed. The activity successfully achieved its objectives bringing people together uniting for a cause, to talk nutrition and be fit and healthy. An event remembered by many weeks after its culmination.
