A newly-developed reporting system called the First 1000 Days Reporting System (F1K RS) was introduced to the Province of Zamboanga del Sur through a roll out training conducted by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Regional Office IX on December 18-20, 2019 at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City. The training aims to capacitate the participants/end users with skills on how to use the electronic reporting system for a timely and quality tracking of Early Childhood Care and Development First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) program implementation. The training was attended by 32 participants composed of Nutrition Action Officers, Nutrition Coordinators and Barangay Nutrition Scholars. It was facilitated by Mr. Elton N. Pelegrino, NNC IX ECCD F1K Provincial Nutrition Coordinator, Ms. Mecelyn B. Ruiles, Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator (MNPC) of Aurora, ZDS and Mr. Rey Marth G. Sulatorio, ZDS District II Nutrition Program Coordinator.
The F1K RS is a system used to assist the NNC on its mandate as agency focal point for the multiagency ECCD F1K and National Nutrition System pursuant to Section 6, Republic Act 11037, otherwise known as the Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act. It has 9 modules which will be accessible to the Technical Assistance, Monitoring and Evaluation (TAME) Teams: Barangay, City/Municipal, Provincial, Regional and National workers and officers.
Participants actively participated during the hands-on exercises while the modules are being discussed by the facilitators. The activity was facilitated well and very informative. According to one of the participants, the training on F1K RS system is very beneficial especially to the Barangay Nutrition Scholars in tracking the records of the beneficiaries.
The F1K Reporting System received positive feedbacks from the participants and they find it very useful in their respective LGUs because it is already paperless and can automatically track and record the data of beneficiaries. Currently, the system is still being developed and aims to improve more and be able to serve quality and convenient access to everyone for better tracking of beneficiaries of the ECCD F1K program implementation.
