and #DA9LPES - Twenty five (25) participants of the MARINE HEADQUARTER MOTOR TRANSPORT AND MAINTENANCE BATTALION of the Combat and Service Support Brigade, headed by OIC Lt Col PN (M)(GSC) ROTESSA M BAYLON, and assisted by OPERATION OFFICER CAPT. GEORGE ADVIENTO underwent a Basic Training on Mushroom Culture held at the CCSBDE Annex NSRE Bagong Calarian, barangay Lower Calarian in Zamboanga City on November 21, 2020.

The DA9 Regional Soils Laboratory headed by Maria Gemma S. Genaldo in collaboration with the DA9 La Paz Research Experiment Station (LPES) headed by Orlando Telmo conducted the activity.

Ms Annabel Go Sindayen (RSL), Orlando Telmo (LPES), Janice Racho (LPES) and Janice Paquingan (LPES) served as resource speakers and technical assistants during the conduct of said training.

According to Sindayen, who represented RSL Chief Maria Gemma S. Genaldo, the training was a response to the request and initiative of OIC Lt Col PN (M)(GSC) ROTESSA M BAYLON to capacitate alternative livelihood skills for the Marine Motor Transport and Maintenance personnel, as well as learn Mushroom production as alternate source of food, income, and utilization of idle areas to develop inside the camp.
