Biggest Loser Adult Schoolchildren editionTo address the problem of obesity and hypertension among children and adults, the municipality of Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte (LGU-Siayan) successfully launched its annual “Biggest Loser Challenge: Adult and Schoolchildren Edition last March 22, 2022. As part of the LGUs strategies to reduce the number of obese individuals in the municipality, this program was designed to encourage the target groups to lose weight, improve physical activity, and make lifestyle changes while having fun.

They are committed to continuing in scaling up nutrition interventions, especially in the first 1000 days of a child’s life. The National Nutrition Council IX likewise enjoins all LGUs to support nutrition by investing in the critical nutrition programs that yield positive nutrition outcomes.
