PinakbetPinakbet is a typical Filipino cuisine from the Philippines' northern regions. Pinakbet is a meal made with sautéed mixed vegetables with a fish or shrimp sauce. The term is a derivation of pinakebbet, which meaning "shriveled" or "shrunk" in Ilocano.

This traditional Pinoy stew goes well with fried fish or grilled meat as a main course or as a side dish. It is a dish that consists of a variety of veggies. Bitter melon, eggplant, tomato, ginger, okra, lima beans, chili peppers, parda, winged beans, squash, and bagoong isda or bagoong alamang are common ingredients in pinakbet, all were combined to create the delectable experience that Filipinos are accustomed to. Our forefathers used to cook pinakbet in earthen pots because they considered it was the greatest method. To preserve the quality of the veggies, mixing them with a ladle is not recommended. There are at least seven different types of vegetables included in each serving of Pinakbet. Ampalaya, eggplant, okra, green beans, chili peppers, tomatoes, sweet potato, and squash are common examples of these vegetables, which are high in various vitamins and minerals that our bodies require to keep healthy.

Eggplant aids in the lowering of heart disease-causing factors. Ampalaya is high in antioxidants and has been shown in research to have therapeutic effects that assist lower blood sugar levels. Green beans help your digestive system function properly. Squash is high in beta-carotene, which our bodies convert into vitamin A, which helps us keep healthy vision and boost our immune systems. Pinakbet consumption on a daily basis would let Filipino families to reap the full nutritious benefits of its vegetable components. Pinakbet is a simple dish to prepare, taking only 10 to 15 minutes after your mise en place is ready and it is a cuisine that benefits Filipino farmers by using vegetables as the main ingredient.
