October 25, 2022--The Mindanao Communicators Network Inc. (MindaComNet) conducted a 1-day activity, the Info Serbisyo Caravan at Barangay Saad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. Prior to the conduct of the activity, the MindaComNet member agencies and stakeholders have convened two coordination meetings and members have laid down their commitments and participation. This activity was done for member agencies to provide basic information of programs, projects, and bring available services to the chosen beneficiary.
A 2-hour bumpy, hilly and steep ride was made to reach the destination from the town proper to Barangay Saad where tents were already set up at the area for the participating agencies. During the program hosted by PIA9, the Welcome Remarks was delivered by Punong Barangay of Saad Hon. Jeffrey Señara, Sr. On behalf of the Hon. Mayor Gerry T. Paglinawan, his Administrative Assistant Mr. Raphael Claude Rousseau gave the opening message. Rationale of the activity was presented by the Regional Director of PIA – IX, Ms. Noemi B. Edaga.
The Government’s Peace and Development Agenda with National Intelligence Coordinating Agency IX (NICA9), also high-profile persons who were once leftist and or in conflict with the government gave their testimonies. The Nagkakaisang Gobyerno also provided services where the different participating agencies for the Agrikultura at Kabuhayan (DA, PCA, DOLE); Kalikasan at Imprastraktura (DENR, DAR, DPWH); Komunikasyon at Teknolohiya (DICT, PIA); Edukasyon at Agham (DOST, CHED, DEPED, TESDA); Kalusugan at Kapakanang Panlipunan (NNC, SSS, DSWD, PopCom); Seguridad at Kapayapaan (AFP, PNP) each agencies head/representative gave brief talks and elaborated the programs, projects, commitments and services that each agencies brought to be availed by the community residents.
Agencies present, gave the needed information and services to the general public which included the infants, children, teens, adults and the elderly. No-less than 200 persons benefited the activity. Intermission numbers were presented to entertain the crowd by Saad cultural performers, performers from LGU Dumingag and AFP personnel.
As one of the participating agencies, the NNC9 also provided services to target clients. Nutrition brochures, leaflets, information materials were distributed along with providing Nutrition information and counselling to mothers and caregivers which were done by NNC9 represented AA I Floricel N. Denopol, RND, DOH9 NDDP Wendelyn B. Villaflor, RND and MNAO Designate Ms. Arceliza B. Egos. BigMo complementary foods for 6-23 months old children were also distributed to mothers.
During the activity, the messages of gratitude were delivered by the Punong Barangay Hon. Jeffrey Senara, Sr., MindaComNet President Ms. Cecil J. Abuy and an IP leader representative. The distribution of Certificate of Participation to agencies and organizations also took place. The Closing Remarks was given by Ms. Dahlia A. Paragas, the MindaComNet Vice President.
Exit conference of MindaComNet and LGU was done for the participating agencies to assess the activity. The activity concluded with Punong Barangay Jeffrey Señara and his constituents, all in deep gratitude and happiness for the services they received during the activity.
