The Municipality of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur (LGU-Dumalinao ZDS) conducted a Training on Basic Course for Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) last 18-20 October 2022. The newly-designated Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Ms. Jonalyn J. Lagare, RSW actively participated, facilitated and led the 3-day training. The Municipal Mayor and Municipal Nutrition Council Chairman, Honorable Junaflor S. Cerilles, RMT, MAGD graced the event during its opening program, she gave the Welcome Remarks, thus made the event a special and memorable one.

During the 3-day activity, the 37 Barangay Nutrition Scholars coming from the 30 barangays of the LGU were all diligent and attentive to be able to gain additional information. Resource Persons during the three-day training were: Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO) of Zamboanga del Sur- Ms. Grace F. Sumogue, RND; DNPCs Lea Ariza and Maila Son, NNC IX – AA I Floricel Denopol, RND and NDDP- Jusielou Angcao, RND  who at the same time is the moderator of the event.

During the third and final day of the training, Vice-Mayor Lorenzo Alcantara gave his closing remarks for the Graduation ceremony and also facilitated in giving of the certificates. The thirty-seven (37) Barangay Nutrition Scholars enthusiastically and overjoyed to receive their Certificates of Completion. Resource Persons also received Certificates of Appreciation. The tree-day Training of Trainers for Barangay Nutrition Scholars in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur was indeed a success.
