RingwormContrary to what its name suggests, ringworm isn't really brought on by a worm or other kinds of a living parasites. It's actually a skin disorder called tinea that is brought on by a certain type of organism. It feeds on dead skin, hair, and nail tissues. Your skin becomes itchy, inflamed, and red when you have ringworm. It eventually assumes the form of a circle or ring (or a few rings). This may be the origin of the term "ringworm." Ringworm can affect both your skin and your nails. The arms and scalp are the most commonly affected areas, although you can acquire them anywhere on your body, including your face.

Ringworm may go by a different name if it develops in completely different areas. For instance, it's referred to as a jock itch when it affects the groin area. Athlete's foot is the term for it when it affects the area between your toes.

A number of the essential oils listed below can help in ringworm treatment. To begin with, when using basic oils, you should look for allergies that can increase skin redness. Add three to five drops of carrier oil, like mineral or olive oil, per ounce to dilute the basic oil. At that time, apply it to a dime-sized area of healthy skin. It should be safe to use your condition if you receive no response after 12 to 24 hours.

If you have ringworm, you should keep the affected area as clean as possible. This makes a difference in preventing the rash from spreading and in keeping the infected regions under control. Before using any antibacterial treatments, daily wash the afflicted area with water and an antibacterial cleanser. After a shower, properly dry the area because moisture makes it easier for the fungus to spread. Apple Cider can be used in treating ringworm. When applied topically to the affected area, vinegar's potent antifungal qualities may help treat ringworm. Use it by soaking a cotton ball in undiluted apple cider vinegar and applying it to your skin. Three times a day, repeat this. Coconut oil has antifungal and antimicrobial qualities that can help treat ringworm disorders. It is an incredibly potent topical home remedy for ringworm and illnesses caused by other pathogens, such as candida. Coconut oil is a great scalp treatment for ringworm because it's easy to use and works as a hair conditioner. Apply the coconut oil especially to the diseased area after first warming it in the microwave or in your palm until it becomes fluid. It will quickly absorb into the skin. Apply it three or more times daily.

While all-natural treatments are fantastic, occasionally you need something a little more practical. For mild cases of ringworm, there are several effective OTC antifungal topical treatments. Look for clotrimazole and terbinafine, which are potent components. Your dermatitis will instruct you to use these treatments twice a day. Depending on how serious your ringworm disease is, your doctor may recommend a variety of treatments. Topical medications, such as antifungal creams, treatments, gels, or baths, can be used to treat jock itch, athlete's foot, and body ringworm.
