gut healthBeing healthy inside and out is very important. However, giving more emphasis on our "inner" health, we're saying that taking care of our gut health is the best way to prevent further complications and illnesses that we'll probably experience in our middle years or earlier. The gastrointestinal (GI) system is referred to as the "gut," and the quantity and variety of bacteria in your stomach and intestinal tract largely affect the health of this system. Having a healthy gut has implications for more than just digesting. It may have noticeable effects on your immune system, mood, and other factors.

Uterine fibroidFibroids are muscular tumors that develop in the uterine wall. The majority of fibroids are benign (not cancerous). Noncancerous uterine growths known as uterine fibroids frequently manifest themselves when a woman is pregnant. Uterine fibroids, also known as leiomyomas or myomas, seldom, if ever, progress to cancer. Fibroids can be small enough to be invisible to the naked eye or large enough to stretch and expand the uterus, it can be isolated or spread out.

Corpus luteumAn example of an ovarian cyst is a Corpus Luteum Cyst (a small, fluid-filled sac). Even though it is only temporary, the corpus luteum is an essential endocrine component. During ovulation, it develops from cells in the ovarian follicle wall. This kind of cyst develops when the corpus luteum doesn't dissolve as it usually does, but instead keeps growing. This disease, also known as a corpus luteal cyst, frequently develops during pregnancy. It can also appear at other times, typically during the years when women are having children. How and why these cysts form can be explained by understanding the ovulation process. Thousands of tiny pouches called follicles, which contain eggs, are present in your ovaries.  The corpus luteum is a temporary tissue that develops after a follicle releases an egg during ovulation. This structure secretes progesterone and estrogen, which prepare the uterus for implantation. Menstruation is aided in onset by corpus luteum breakdown. The corpus luteum remains longer to produce hormones if conception occurs. At about 12 week’s gestation, the placenta will take over the job of producing progesterone. If conception is failed, the corpus luteum typically disintegrates 11 to 12 days after ovulation and between 7 and 9 weeks into pregnancy. On the ovary, however, a corpus luteum cyst can occasionally form. When this occurs, the corpus luteum fills with blood and continues to develop instead of decomposing as it usually does. The cyst will eventually disappear on its own and is mostly benign and painless.

F1K RS Pilot TestingThe National Nutrition Council IX (NNC9) assisted Pilot Testing of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) in the First 1000 days (F1K) Program Reporting System in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur (ZDS) which was participated by the program implementers of the municipalities of Aurora and Mahayag last October 17, 2022. The activity was organized by the NNC Central Office in partnership with Asiagate Networks Incorporated via an online platform and fifteen (15) participants joined face-to-face at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City. The participants from the LGUs were composed of P/MNAOs, D/MNPCs, FHSIS Coordinators, ECCD F1K Focal Persons, and Nutritionist-Dietitians in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur, LGU Aurora, and LGU Mahayag. The 2-day training aims to: 1. Provide an online reporting facility that is accessible on both computer and mobile; 2. Provide a facility to Barangay Health Centers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars to encode the target clients and appropriate services to eliminate the use of redundant forms; 3. Track the progress of physical and financial targets in all program areas; and 4. Provide a facility to generate consolidated reports and statistics.

PolypsA polyp is a tissue growth that protrudes from the body's surface, typically the mucous membrane. The most common form of polyps, which are tissue growths, is a little, flat lump or a tiny stalk resembling a mushroom. Less than half an inch wide, the majority of polyps are tiny. Most polyps are benign, which means they don't have malignancy. However, because they are the result of aberrant cell proliferation, they may eventually develop into malignant or cancerous lesions. The causes of polyps can vary based on their location. According to studies, having some genetic abnormalities or a family history of syndromes with genetic causes may increase your risk of acquiring specific types of polyps.
