The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte celebrated the first anniversary of Radyo sa Kalambuan in a simple ceremony attended by partners and stakeholders last 19 February 2014. Radyo sa Kalambuan is among the community radio stations set up by NNC in 2012 as part of the advocacy and education component of the nutrition program.

NPC Marissa Navales personally graced the occasion where she delivered a message and was put on live interview after the program. During the interview, Miss Navales shared NNC's nutrition programs and initiatives and underscored the relevance of addressing hunger and malnutrition as the country strives towards achieving the Millenium Development Goals by 2015. She thanked the Provincial Government and the Radio Council Members for sustaining the efforts of providing correct and timely information on nutrition citing that addressing both hunger and malnutrition requires a collective effort from all members of society.

Miss Navales highlighted that the initiative must be taken from the rights perspective - the right to appropriate information to enable parents, families and communities to make informed decisions about proper nutrition.

Pastor Florence Perecho, a member of the Radio Council Members, added that Radio sa Kalambuan has not only become a successful channel or instrument of relevant nutrition information but of other community issues and concerns such as prevention of violence against women and children.

Earlier before the celebration, Ms. Navales together with Mr. Lyndon Galica, Radio as Kalambuan Station Manager and NO III Helen Alferez, paid a visit to Gov. Mohammed Khalid Q. Dimaporo. During the conversation, Gov. Dimaporo expressed his interest to benchmark performance/operations of Radio sa Kalambuan with other community radio stations set up by NNC. NPC Navales agreed to the challenge of the Honorable Governor by exploring benchmarking initially with the one set up in Bukidnon.

More than 40 day care children of Barangay Lower Sagadan, Tubod, LDN were treated to a feeding program as part of the celebration.
