BNS TOTA total of 25 newly designated Nutrition Action Officers, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators and health and nutrition staff from 14 NorMin LGUs were added to the pool of BNS trainers as they completed the Training of Trainers on the Basic Course for Barangay Nutrition Scholars held August 23-26, 2016 at The VIP Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Through lecture-discussions, workshops, practical skills application and sharing of experience, the participants were able to demonstrate knowledge and skills required by the training. The four day live-in training was facilitated by DNPC Marites A. Gomez of Misamis Oriental and CNPCs Sherill Faith B. Pineda and Salsi R. Dizon Cagayan de Oro City and Valencia City, respectively.  The members of the training team were all recipients of the BNS TOT in previous years. 

“The training sharpened my knowledge in making spot map, proper weight and height taking and computation, use of the CGS charts and on documentation.  What is important now is our dedication and commitment to do our roles in our respective local government units. During the concluding rites, NPC Marissa D.M. Navales of NNC X challenged the new BNS trainers to cascade the learning acquired and ensure that their commitments as reflected in their re-entry plans result to improved BNSs performance and positive outcomes on nutrition. fev
