NorMin’s Regional Development Council approved during its 111th Full Council Meeting held June 29, 2017 RDC-X Resolution No. 36 (s. 2017), “SUPPORTING THE 2017 JULY NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION”.  The policy issuance sets the tone for the regionwide celebration with the theme: Healthy Diet, Gawing Habit- FOR LIFE!”. The Resolution reiterates that healthy diet is consistent with the principles of nutrition: moderation, variety and balance.

The said resolution directed all RDC X member agencies to strengthen the institutionalization of the celebration through the implementation of purposive plan of activities relevant to the theme. RDC X also enjoins all stakeholders including LGUs, schools and other relevant institutions to support, advocate and advance this year’s Nutrition Month Campaign.

Among the major activities lined up in the region are the following:

-       Short Film Making Contest as an initiative of the NorMin regional media group

-       Launch of the G-4 Plus (Garden of Go, Grow and Glow +) and BNS Nutrition Forum (Gingoog City)

-       Dancercise and Zumba by various LGUs

-       Poster/Slogan Making and Inter-School Quiz Bee Contests

-       Nutri Family Run and Launch of Healthiest Loser Kids Edition Season 2

-       Free Nutrition Assessment and Counselling (NDAP Bukidnon Chapter)

-       Healthy Diet Symposium and Healthy Meal Cooking Contest – (Valencia City)

-       City Wide Posting of 10 Kumainments and Pinggang Pinoy (Cagayan de Oro City)

-       Nutrition Congress (Misamis Occidental )

-       Healthy Baby, Nutri-jingle and Nutri Poem Contests (Camiguin)

-       Press conferences, radio/media guestings and live interviews

The Regional Nutrition Committee of Region X through NNC X recognizes the vital role of the RDC in sustaining the healthy diet campaign beynd the July Nutrition Month.  As such, efforts toencourage members of the Council and GUs to observe serving of healthy diets during meetings, functions and activities will be pursued.pcdt
